Ed Flis kissed my neck at an after party and now he works for Ableton. I think.
Ed, better known as Duran Duran Duran was always one of the weirder breakcore producers. The song that always sticks out in my mind is called Pilldriver and samples a McDonald’s commercial from when the Big n Tasty went on sale. RIP to the big n tasty, I assume, I don’t know what made it different from any of their other burgers.
Anyway, I was trying to hunt down a more obscure breakcore artist (I’m sure I’ll post some of their music if I ever find it) that I remembered sorting my vinyl collection, they did a split with Duran Duran Duran, I went trying to track it down and ended up here.
There’s breakcore that gets labeled breakcore because it sounds like breakcore, and then there’s this. The kind of stuff that gets labeled breakcore because… what else could it be?It’s not jungle, it’s not acid, it’s not dubstep, it’s not techno, it’s all of it.
Choose Death is really good okay, and includes remixes from FFF, laf-o, Wombcorps and Ronin.
